API overview¶
Argus is a read-only financial Data Layer. CLI, REST, and MCP are generated from one public Registry and expose the same governed core capability through one permission, license, evidence, quality, temporal, and audit boundary.
For agent-facing setup and current public interface guidance, see the official API onboarding page.
Use agent_tool_registry to discover capabilities and the machine-readable migration manifest. The complete current inventory is in Generated Interface Contracts.
Public onboarding and distribution endpoints include GET /cli, GET /skill, GET /mcp, GET /install, GET /windows/install, GET /v1/skills, and GET /v1/skills/{skill_id}. MCP is served separately at /mcp and /mcp-machine.
Credentials must never be passed through a remote shell.
The API returns structured facts and neutral, reproducible metadata. It does not answer questions, generate narratives or reports, manage user lists, calculate performance, recommend actions, execute strategies, place orders, control accounts, or orchestrate Agents.
